The Worst Has Happened

So this weekend, one of the worst things that can happen to a girl- or guy- happened to me. There were tears, screaming, parental lectures involved. And now my life is different.

I LOST MY PURSE. In London, on a night out. And it had everything I need to function in life within it, from my bank cards to my uni library pass. And now I have no ID, no access to money, I even had no train tickets to get home- disaster. Fortunately a frantic phone call home caused my dad to drive down the next day and collect me in my fragile hungover state. Yes, the shame is real.

So for the next week or so I am moneyless, and for at least a month I have no form of ID (I don't have a passport, and in order to get a new license I need to have a passport...ridiculous). The point is, I never realised how much that little rectangle was in control of my life, and now its in someone else's hands, I feel like they can control my life.

I am ashamed and never drinking again. Okay I take that last bit back.

7 Things They Don't Tell You About Growing Up...

Now that I'm 21 *shudders* I realise that considering my age I should be a lot better at being a grown up by now. However, this isn't the case, and I still feel about 17 years old and have no idea what I'm doing. So here is a post- not particularly fashion related- on things we don't get told in school about growing up.

1. How to pay a bill. I can't put in to words the confusion of having to pay housing rent online, especially at uni where every single letting agent does it differently. The first time i had to pay my rent for halls in second year, I literally text about three friends asking how to do it, and then made a frantic call to mother after getting two final notices, which brings me to my next point:

2. Checking emails. I never thought emails would be anything other than an outlet for spam mail and discounts resulting in shopping sprees. But especially now I'm at uni, I end up checking emails far more than checking my Facebook feed.

3. There's no significant moment where you feel like a proper adult. At least, not for me so far anyway. I think everyone pretty much has no idea what they are doing, and tries not to think about it too much (as an over thinker, this just causes me stress).

4. Tax. W T F. Like, where did all my money go?!! Why, who, and again, WHY?!

5. How expensive food is. I didn't notice it at first, but going from eating out your parent's cupboard to having to do a food shop all by yourself is pretty shocking when it comes to the checkout. In particular, fruit and veg.

6. Sell-by dates. How much money have I wasted on food that doesn't get eaten because it goes out of date the next day? A lot, is the answer.

7. How expensive nights out are. I'm 21 but I still like a night out now and then, and I'm still a student. But- especially down in London- is shocks me how expensive drinks on a weekend are. £15 for a cocktail?! Howay man.

If you relate to any of this, I am not alone hahaha.

Resort 2016

Some pieces from resort shows that have caught my eye, loving the pastel colour pallet mixed with candy popping colours! Also enjoying the geometric prints within the garments, especially the Roksanda pieces.

An Autumn/Winter/Wishing I had money wish list

To kickstart this blog (which now comes with its own banner) I figured i'd share a wish list with you to give you some sort of idea as to what my style is, and what I like to wear. And despite the clothes in this post I promise I'm not a stripper who likes vinyl clothing and thigh highs (not everyday anyway).

Clockwise from top left:

Snake T-shirt- House of Holland- currently in the sale for £30!
Clear Backpack- American Apparel
Suede skirt- Topshop- £79
Snake skin boots- Topshop- £150
Alien Bag- Ebay- £10
Fut trim shoes- ASOS- £45
Cloud Jacket- Lazy Oaf- £140

I know I won't manage to buy any of these items as I'm a poor student with about 20p to my name, although the temptation for the suede skirt is killing me...is it worth spending 2 weeks wages on? Hmm.

New Beginings

It's safe to say that anyone who is anything within fashion probably has a blog. In fact, people who don't have anything to do with fashion also have blogs. Blogs blogs blogs- everywhere. It starts to get sickening to even hear the word. Hence why I have titled this page, "Look, another fashion blog"- straight to the point.

Now, I'm not new to blogging, in fact this is the second one I've created because I kind of had this...weird idea late at night to start afresh with something new. I'm currently one of those "Look what I'm wearing" bloggers, which after 3 years of countless style-changes and weather incidents, is getting a bit old. And I'll admit that it kind of feels pointless to put such work in to something that no one really reads, especially when you put yourself out there for the world to see.

So, I figured I'd try this. I plan to talk current trends, high-street heroes, lifestyle and much more with a personal twist. So I guess this is sort of an experiment for me.

Speak soon!
